Privacy policy

Last updated: 2 September 2026

We collect your email address at sign-up, to sign you in and send important account notifications. Your email is never shown to any other member or moderator, and we do not require a phone number.

We ask your gender at sign-up, used only to determine eligibility to moderate topics designated for women. This answer is never shown to any member, any moderator, or the Al Miqlat team — nobody sees it but the eligibility check itself.

Your handle, which you choose, is your only public identity. The name you enter once at sign-up for greetings is private and never shown to anyone.

What you post — questions, replies, images — appears publicly attached to your handle, never your real name or email.

Images you attach are stored directly on our servers, with location and device metadata stripped before storage, so a photo cannot reveal who you are.

If you enable notifications, we keep your device token to deliver them through Apple's service, and use it for nothing else.

Al Miqlat uses no third-party tracking or analytics service, and does not share your data with any advertiser.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. It takes effect immediately — you're signed out and can't sign back in. Content you've already posted stays visible under your handle, since deletion doesn't retroactively remove it. We keep your account data afterward so a deletion can still be reversed through support if it was a mistake, and to meet legal and safety obligations; it isn't used for anything else. You can request a copy of your own data when you delete your account.

To ask about your data, reach us from inside the app — Settings → Support — or at [email protected].

We may update this policy, and any material change will be posted here with the date above.
