It started from a simple observation: a lot of questions never get asked.
Not because they're shameful, and not because nobody would answer —
but because your name comes with them.
You want to know if your decision was right, but the question itself
reveals that you're unsure. You want an honest opinion, and people go
easy on you because they know you. You want to ask something you're
supposed to have known for years, and you're embarrassed.
So we built a place where your question stands on its own.
Al Miqlat is the Saudi majlis where guests gather to eat, talk,
and share a laugh.
We chose it because it describes exactly what we're building: the room
after the formalities, where you sit comfortably and talk without keeping score.
Honesty. The most useful thing anyone says is the thing said without
calculating who's listening. People don't flatter because they enjoy it —
they flatter because honesty is expensive. Lower the cost, and honesty
shows up on its own.
Reliability. Honesty without trust is just chatter. Here the answer comes
from someone who lived it, not someone who read about it.
Clarity. A clear question gets a clear answer. We write plainly, and we
encourage people to do the same.
Precision. A number beats an impression, and experience beats opinion.
A discussion with numbers in it goes somewhere. One without them circles.
Respect. You can disagree with anyone here, and you cannot wound anyone.
That isn't a limit on honesty — it's the condition for it. In a place where
people get cut down, the ones with real experience leave, and only the
loudest stay.
Almiqlat is organised into communities. Each has its own subject, its own
people, and its own moderators. Inside a community you ask, you answer,
you say what you think, and you share what you've lived through.
And the first person to open a community becomes its first moderator.
Almiqlat is early. That isn't a shortcoming — it's a window that doesn't
open twice.
Almiqlat is a Saudi product, built in Riyadh, and subject to the laws
of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
